Penggunaan Either/Neither(juga tidak) dan But (tetapi)

Berikut ini kami sampaikan penggunaan kalimat eliptic yaitu Either/Neither(juga tidak) dan But (tetapi).

Either dan Neither digunakan untuk menghidanri pengulangan kata kerja dalam kalimat negatif. Polanya adalah :

Kalimat negatif + and + S + aux + n’t+ either

atau

Kalimat negatif+and +neither +Aux + S

Contoh :

I'm not an artist. Johnny is not artist

• I am not an artist and Johnny isn't either
• I am not an artist and neither is Johnny

I don’t like tea. Surti doesn't like tea

• I don't like tea and Surti doesn't like tea
• I don’t like tea and neither does Surti

They didn’t meet Andres. I didn’t meet Andres

• They didn’t meet Andreas and I didn’t meet either
• They didn’t meet Andreas and neither did I

Mother hasn’t cleaned the room. They haven't cleaned the room

• Mother hasn’t cleaned the room and they haven't either
• Mother hast cleaned the room and neither have they

But (tetapi)

But/while digunakan jika kedua kalimaty yang digabung bertentangan.  Polanya adalah :

Kalimat Postif +and +S+Aux  + Not

atau

kalimat negatif +and +S + Aux

Contoh

I'm   an artist. Johnny is not artist

• I am not an artist but Johnny is not

They didn’t meet Andres. I meet Andres

• They didn’t meet Andreas but But I did

I don’t like tea. Surti  likes tea

• I don't like tea but Surti does

Mother has cleaned the room. They haven't cleaned the room

• Mother has cleaned the room but  they haven't
