Penggunaan Struktur Elip Too & So (Juga)

Berikut ini saya sampaikan penggunaan struktur elips dalam berbahasa inggris. Elliptic Structure atau struktur elip adalah struktur kalimat yang dipersingkat dengan mnghilangkan bagian kalimat yang mempunyai kesamaan arti asalnya. Struktur ini dipakai guna menghindari pengulaman yang sama dalam satu kalimat

Dalam pembentukan struktur elip, diperlukan auxillary verbs (kata bantu kerja) anatara lain :

to be : is/am/are/was/were

Do( do, does,did)

have (have , has , had)

Modals : can , must , should,shall, will, need, dare

Struktur elip  too an so (juga) dapat dibentuk anatara lain :

Too dan so dapat digunakan guna menghindari pengulangan kata kerja dalam kalimat positif. Polanya adalah sebagai berikut :

Kalimat positif + and + AUX +too atau

Kalimat positif +and+so+AUX +S

contoh :

I am an artist. Sandy is an artist

• I am an artist and Sandy is too
• I am an artist and so is Sandy

I like tea. Mike likes tea

• I like tea and Andy does too
• I like tea and so does Andy

They met John. I met John

• They met John and I did too
• They met John and so did I

Mother has cleaned the room . They have cleaned the room

• Mother has cleaned the room and they have too
• Mother has cleaned the room and so have they

Rissa had left for work when I called her. Henny had left for work when called her

• Rissa had left for work when called her and Henny had too
• Rissa had left for work when so had Henny

Paijo can speak javanese well and Ximon can too. Sitorus can speak Javanese well

• Paijo can speak Javanese well and Sitorus can too
• Paijo can speak javanese well and so can Sitorus
